This Friday and every Friday – A National Day of Prayer

On Friday 20th March 2020, I arranged a National Day of Prayer where many people in this nation (UK) and many people in other nations prayed that God would, because of his great love for our world, in his grace and mercy stop this virus. I did this because one person asked me to co-ordinate a day where people could pray. I know there have been other days of prayer and that’s wonderful – the more people praying the better. However, another two people have now asked if I would co-ordinate a weekly day of prayer together with a prayer list so that people with a faith or even those without a faith can continue to ask God to move in great power. Our world is in crisis and I want to help and I’m sure you do too. One thing we can all do is to pray. We want to see this virus gone and life being restored. I believe that is what is on God’s heart too, and therefore we need to pray. Are you ready to take up the challenge to pray? Some people say, “I don’t know how to pray.” That’s okay – praying is simple – it’s just talking. We all know how to talk. The wonderful thing is God hears every small whisper. You can pray prayers like this: “God help us!” “God help my family.” “God if you are real be real to us now.” “God change the circumstances.” “God, forgive me and cleanse my land.” “God, I need you.” All these prayers are brilliant prayers and we can all do this. Whether you believe in a God, who is not only real but powerful and who loves us so much like I do, or not – the important thing is we all know we need outside help to help us at this time and who better than the all-knowing, all-seeing God. Let’s storm the heavens and implore him to come and heal our world. Let’s pray for our politicians and our medical teams. Let’s pray for those who have no one to help them in this crisis. Will you help me to moblise an army of people – with faith or with no faith – to pray? We are in a war and everyone needs to do their part. You may not be on the front line as it were like the doctors and nurses are, but we can be on the front line spiritually by praying and interceding for yourself, for your family, for your neighbours, for your nation and for our world. Let’s stand together. This Friday 27th March and every Friday let’s make it a National Day of Prayer and I will issue a list of things we can pray for every week. Are you with me? We can do this if we stand together. Please share this far and wide and make sure as you share it, you click on public post so that not only can your friends and family see it but everyone and anyone can – thank you! We are stronger together!
